"A Will is the only method to ensure that your wishes are carried out after your death and although this is something none of us want to think about, it is vital to have one in place whether or not you believe you have many possessions or much money, are unmarried, have children (including from a previous relationship) or your circumstances have changed, to name a few.
No estate planning solution is a one-size-fits-all which is why we strive to provide a comprehensive plan that takes into account your individual circumstances and makes the most of your finances while you are alive, to ensure you leave behind as much as possible for those you care about.
It may be feasible to reduce the amount of tax payable on inheritance, for example, by reducing the value of an estate with the use of agricultural and/or business property reliefs and Potentially Exempt Transfers (lifetime gifts), or, after considering any relevant exemptions and reliefs available, by creating a Trust in your Will.
However simple or complex, you don’t need to wait until you are elderly to first start thinking about a Will. Avoid unintentional financial problems and emotional distress for your loved ones and contact us about making your Will today. You’ll feel better once it’s done."
The Society of Will Writers (SWW) is the leading self-regulatory body for Professional Estate Planners with over 1,700 members across the UK, and has been offering unlimited support to its members for 30 years. The Society represents the interests of both Will Writers and their clients and its main goals are "the advancement, education and ethical standards within the will writing profession"
SWW members must first complete and pass a rigorous examination and application process and commit to ongoing training (a minimum of 24 hours per year) to ensure they are up to date with all aspects of will writing.
All members are required to hold professional indemnity insurance of at least £2million and offer a statutory cooling off period of 14 days in accordance with the Consumer Contract Regulations.
SWW has a Code of Practice that all members must adhere to. This Code requires members to act with integrity, conduct their business with due skill, care and diligence, treat clients fairly and not mislead them, practice equality and respect diversity and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
